The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Office of Civil Rights (TCR) is required to assess compliance with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Since 2000, Planners Collaborative, on TCR's behalf, has conducted over 60 on-site reviews of fixed route stop announcements, fixed route lift reliability and maintenance, and ADA complementary paratransit service. The reviews encompass background work, on-site activities, development of reports, and follow-up monitoring of the transit systems. TCR receives assistance from private contractors to conduct the reviews. Since 1999, Planners Collaborative has been the prime contractor in providing this assistance to FTA's Office of Civil Rights.
