Somerville, one of the most densely populated communities in New England, is in the process of undergoing a remarkable renewal. In conjunction with the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority’s proposed extension of Green Line service through the city, Planners Collaborative helped to explore transit improvement strategies. We facilitated meetings with a Citizens’ Advisory Committee of Somerville residents and business leaders which resulted in identifying common goals and objectives. Planners Collaborative also provided guidance on the transportation planning and development process, identifying the roles and opportunities involved in planning and decision-making.
